How the record is built

A report describes vials. It does not say how many vials it covers.

That gap is what the lot record closes. Three steps, in this order, before anything is released. Materials are supplied for in vitro research, analytical method development, identity verification and laboratory evaluation, and for nothing else.

01 · REGISTER

The lot is named first

The lot identifier is issued before the laboratory sees the material, so the name cannot be chosen after the result is known.

02 · LOCK

The count is frozen

The number of vials in the lot is fixed at lock. No further codes can be issued for that lot once it is closed.

03 · MATCH

The certificate names the lot

Where available, a Certificate of Analysis from an independent laboratory names the lot number printed on the vial, character for character.

Whether a vial code has already been scanned.
The lot number printed on the vial, matched to the certificate.

It does not

Describe any use in humans or animals.
Offer dosing, handling or application guidance beyond storage temperature and solvent compatibility.
Make any therapeutic, clinical or diagnostic claim.
Rate or rank suppliers, or test vials that were not sampled.
